Since 2012, one study program at Universitas Brawijaya has get international recognition, namely the Food Science and Technology Study Program has accredited by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). After that, in the same year, was followed with three study programs at the Faculty of Economics and Business who has get confession from The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st Century Organization (ABEST 21).
Next, from 2015 to 2020, significant number in international recognition of study programs, 17 study programs from ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), 1 study program from The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), 1 study program from The Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE) and 1 study program from Asian Association of Schools of International Business (AASBI).
Rector of Universitas Brawijaya has a policy to provide operational funding for study programs in effort to obtain international recognition, so that study programs have capacity to fulfil the requirements of international accreditation agencies.
In 2021, Universitas Brawijaya received grant funding from Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The grants is effort of government to increase international recognition of study programs. this is in line with Universitas Brawijaya efforts since in 2012. With the grant funding, Universitas Brawijaya get a chance to accelerate international recognition of study programs. Universitas Brawijaya has reserved for 55 study programs that have committed to propose international recognition on The Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN), The Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation (AQAS) and others international accreditation agencies recognized by Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, in other words the intended grant funding is supplement for facilitating study program in preparation stage to meet the requirements of accreditation procedure.
During 2022 and early 2023, some clusters of study program have undergo visitation to earn international recognition from ASIIN and AQAS. Currently there are 9 study programs accredited by ASIIN and 23 study programs from AQAS. Until now, there is 66 study programs have get international recognition. RIN
