With the issuance of new regulations regarding the accreditation of study programs and its mechanisms, the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) has prepared tools (instruments) and resources to be able to reach all levels, types and qualifications of study programs throughout Indonesia.
One of these tools is the Instruments of Conversion Supplement (ICS) which is stipulated based on BAN-PT Regulation Number 2 of year 2020. This instruments are tools used by BAN-PT to extend accreditation status as well as assign accreditation ratings according to the 9 Criteria Study Program Accreditation Instrument.
Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has 174 “active” study programs has made efforts to disseminate ISK in stages to UB Leaders, Faculty Leaders and Study Program Leaders, as well as providing clinics (mentoring) for study programs in preparing ICS.
In particular, through the Instruction of Rector, there are 80 study programs accredited with “A” rating (apart from the health science study program) which are required to apply for ICS in 2021 and 2022. This obligation is also in order to support the achievement of the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of state universities which are determined by Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
In addition to these efforts, Quality Assurance Center (QAC) also conducts routine evaluations through the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) to see the readiness of all study programs to meet the ICS requirements. The IQA results related to ICS have been submitted to UB Leaders and Faculty Leaders so that they can be followed up and pursued for their fulfillment solutions. (ywes)
