On February 7, 2024, at Ijen Suites Resort & Convention Malang, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Brawijaya University (FKH UB), held an important event in preparation for ASIIN accreditation (Accreditation in Engineering Computer Sciences Natural Sciences Mathematics). This event served as a crucial moment in enhancing the quality of education and services within the FKH UB community.
The activity commenced with opening remarks from the Dean of FKH UB, drh. Dyah Ayu Oktavianie AP, M.Biotech., AP.Vet., and a welcome address from the Vice Dean I, who also serves as the Chair of the ASIIN Preparation Committee, drh. Fajar Shodiq Permata, M.Biotech. They provided insights into the significance of ASIIN accreditation for FKH UB.
However, the main highlight of the event was the active participation of the Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) of Brawijaya University. Dr. Shinta Hadiyantina, S.H., M.H., Chair of LPM UB, attended as the main speaker, delivering a presentation titled “UB Support Policy for International Accreditation.” In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of international accreditation in accordance with Permendikbudriset No. 53 of 2023, mandated in article 86 paragraph (1). This presentation offered a deeper analysis compared to others. Dr. Shinta Hadiyantina, S.H., M.H., highlighted in her policy review that Brawijaya University has committed strongly to enhancing the quality of education through achieving international accreditation. This step aligns with the University’s strategic direction of continually improving high-quality and globally relevant educational standards. The support provided by the university extends beyond technical aspects of accreditation preparation, involving the integration of inclusive and progressive educational policies across all faculties and academic units.
Furthermore, the support policy towards international accreditation also reflects Brawijaya University’s long-term vision to become a globally competitive educational center. By obtaining international accreditation, the university aims to ensure that its graduates possess internationally recognized qualifications and are prepared to compete on the global stage. This not only enhances the university’s reputation but also opens doors of opportunities for students to access professional networks and overseas learning opportunities.
Moreover, efforts towards international accreditation strengthen collaboration among faculties and departments within Brawijaya University. Through the accreditation preparation process, there is an exchange of experiences and best practices across various disciplines, enriching the learning and research experiences for the entire academic community. Thus, the role of the Quality Assurance Agency not only serves as a key driver in the preparation for ASIIN accreditation at FKH UB but also acts as a catalyst for synergy and cross-faculty collaboration supporting the overall vision and mission of Brawijaya University.
The discussion was also enriched with presentations from Prof. Dr. Ir. Mustofa Lutfi, MP from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, who discussed best practices and regulations at UB in the context of ASIIN accreditation preparation. Meanwhile, Kartika Andari Wulan, drg., Sp. Pros, provided a presentation and discussion related to the preparation of the SAR (Self Assessment Report) and supporting data for ASIIN in the field of health.
The event concluded with closing remarks from the Dean of FKH UB, reaffirming the commitment and concrete steps that will be taken to achieve ASIIN accreditation. The entire activity provided a clear overview of FKH UB’s efforts in enhancing the quality of education and services, while demonstrating the strategic role of the Quality Assurance Agency of UB in this process.
