International Accreditation Socialization: Accelerating Internationally Standardized Study Programs

Brawijaya University (UB) reaffirms its commitment to continuously enhance the quality of higher education by accelerating the standardization of international study programs. On Thursday, July 18, 2024, the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) organized an International Accreditation Socialization with the aim of ensuring that all study programs can achieve international standards more quickly and effectively through comprehensive understanding and preparation. The event was attended by various UB representatives, including the Vice Rector, University Secretary, and representatives from various faculties and schools within the university.

The event commenced with a report from Prof. Widya Dwi Rukmi Putri, STP., M.P., the secretary of LPM, who highlighted the importance of this socialization in formulating strategies to expedite the international accreditation process. This initiative is expected to strengthen UB’s position as a globally standardized higher education institution, enhancing its competitiveness both nationally and internationally.

UB’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, M.P., in his remarks, emphasized UB’s commitment to improving the quality of higher education. He welcomed the presence of international accreditation in every study program as an attraction for international students to study at UB. With this commitment, UB aims to solidify its reputation as a high-quality and internationally standardized higher education institution, making a significant contribution to the improvement of education in Indonesia.

One of the key moments of the event was the awarding of AQAS certificates to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, and Faculty of Cultural Studies, marking international recognition of the quality of these study programs. The Head of the International Accreditation Center, Putu Mahardika Adi Saputra, S.E., M.Si., M.A., Ph.D., delivered the first presentation on ACQUIN International Accreditation Socialization. He discussed the stages of evaluation, document requirements, and assessment criteria used in the accreditation process. The practical recommendations provided were also aimed at helping study programs and the university prepare effectively to meet ACQUIN standards, including improvements in curriculum, facilities, teaching, and research.

The enthusiasm of the participants was evident during this socialization activity, with the hope that international accreditation is not merely a label but an effective tool to enhance educational quality, expand institutional networks, and open new opportunities for students and staff. With the shared commitment of all relevant parties, it is hoped that every study program at UB can move forward in achieving and maintaining high international standards, which in turn will accelerate the renewal of curriculum, teaching, and evaluation at this university.
