Monday, 7 August 2023, the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) Universitas Brawijaya held a Workshop which took place at the Swiss-belinn Hotel with the main agenda to provide direction and joint discussion related to the condition of Study Programs that are still accredited B, as well as Study Programs that have received notification did not pass the monitoring of BAN-PT.
This activity was opened by the Head of LPM, Dr. Shinta Hadiyantina, S.H., M.H. and followed by the latest condition report related to the position of achieving national accreditation for all faculties in UB. Next, the presentation was delivered by Dr. Slamet Wahyudi, S.T., M.T. related to strategies that can be carried out by study programs and faculties that still have a B accreditation rating. This needs to be done considering that BAN-PT and the Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM) have implemented new ranking criteria, no longer using the old criteria, so acceleration is needed so that recent achievements can be pursued. In addition, consideration for alumni who are in the intended study program is not to make it difficult when they are in the world of work. Meanwhile, for study programs that do not pass monitoring, it is recommended to be re-accredited. Considering that not all study programs are now under the auspices of BAN-PT, the control function will have a significant effect because LAM has policies and rules that will be adjusted according to the knowledge group.
Dr. Slamet Wahyudi S.T, M.T. emphasized that data in PD DIKTI is important because it is a reference in knowing the actual conditions of study programs and faculties. So, it is very clear that the data contained must be the main focus of the leadership. What about the number of lecturers and students, and so on. For this reason, this activity is expected to be a moment of reminder that data is not just a number, but also a representation of the quality of education services implemented in UB. That UB also cares about the learning process that is comfortable, according to standards, and appropriate. RIN/LPM
